Staying at the Grand Blissen Hotel Jozankei was an overall pleasant experience. The room was spacious and offered a amazing view of the valley and river. While the dining options lacked any standout dishes, the onsen facilities were impressive and incredibly relaxing.

Rooms
8.0
My room was large and beautifully decorated, offering a fantastic view into the valley. I enjoyed the ambiance, which added to the overall luxury feel of my stay.
Service
9.0
The staff were incredibly professional and attentive throughout my stay. They communicated well despite the language barrier, ensuring I felt welcomed and well cared for.
Location
8.0
The hotel is conveniently located near attractions in Jozankei. I appreciated the beautiful river views and the peaceful atmosphere, though the surrounding area felt a bit dated in spots.
Dining
7.0
While the breakfast and dinner set menus were satisfactory, they didn't leave a lasting impression. The meals were ordinary but still enjoyable during my stay.
Facilities

The onsen facilities were the highlight of my visit. I loved the variety of pools and the unique experience of soaking in hot water while feeling the cool winter air.

6.8/10

My stay at the Grand Blissen Hotel in Jozankei was a bit mixed. The private onsen in my luxury room was truly wonderful, providing a relaxing experience, but the location seemed rather neglected with a lot of run-down buildings nearby. The food was decent, though nothing to rave about, and I felt one night would have sufficed instead of two.

Rooms
7.0
I stayed in a luxurious room with an onsen view bath, which was spacious and comfortable. However, some areas in the hotel felt quite outdated, with peeling window coverings and tiled areas that showed signs of neglect.
Service
6.0
The staff were generally accommodating, bringing us electric fans to keep cool. However, I felt there could have been better communication about the hotel layout.
Location
5.0
The Jozankei area felt very old and somewhat abandoned, impacting the overall ambiance. Getting there without a rental car is challenging, but the onsite bus stop helps a little.
Dining
6.0
The meals, while decent, were quite similar between the two nights. I would have preferred more variety, and the quality didn’t match the luxury I expected.
Facilities
8.0
The onsen facilities were impressive and provided a good variety of pools at different temperatures. The dry sauna was a nice touch, considering the humid conditions.

My stay at Grand Blissen Hotel in Jozankei was quite the mixed bag. The room I had was spacious and well-equipped, with beautiful views, which I loved. However, the hotel itself seemed a bit outdated and not all the facilities were maintained properly, which made the experience feel less luxurious than expected.

Rooms
5.0
I appreciated the spacious room with tatami and onsen views, but it definitely needs an upgrade, especially in terms of cleanliness. There was an empty pack of shaving cream left in my room, and I found some lipstick stains on the cups, which was off-putting.
Service
7.0
The staff were friendly and accommodating, always welcoming when we needed assistance, especially the front desk guy who recommended ways to get back to Sapporo. They even offered us complimentary drinks to apologize for the room issues.
Location
5.0
The hotel's location in Jozankei had its charm with a nice riverside view, but I found the surrounding area a bit run-down, which gave it a creepy vibe. Plus, it felt remote without a car, especially given the limited shuttle service available.
Dining
6.0
Dining was decent, with nice seafood options prepared for those of us with dietary restrictions, but overall, the food lacked the impact and excitement I hoped for compared to other ryokans I've visited.
Facilities
6.0
The onsen facilities were enjoyable, though they could use a good update. I loved the outdoor pool experience amidst fresh winter air, but the hotel itself could enhance its charm and vibrance.

6.4/10

I enjoyed my day trip to Grand Blissen Hotel Jozankei, mainly for the onsen experience, though the overall atmosphere could use some improvement. The room with tatami was spacious and had a great view, but the dining options were pretty ordinary. The hotel has a good onsen setup, especially with the different pools, making it perfect for relaxation.

Rooms
8.0
The room I saw was enormous, beautifully decorated, and came with comfy futons and a stunning view. It felt luxurious with all the amenities.
Service
7.0
The staff was helpful and spoke basic English, which made checking in and getting info about the onsen package a breeze.
Location
6.0
The location is nice with a scenic river view, but it’s a bit of a walk from the bus stop and requires a bit of exploring around the town.
Dining
5.0
Dining was a downside; the breakfast and dinner options were ordinary and lacked variety. I was left wishing I could've eaten somewhere else.
Facilities
8.0
The onsen facilities were well-maintained and offered multiple pools, including outdoor options, which were fantastic for a winter dip.

My stay at the Grand Blissen Hotel Jozankei was quite enjoyable, especially with the good views of snow-covered landscapes from the lobby, my room, and the restaurant. though I encountered a minor issue with getting a bus ticket printed. The onsen experience was fantastic, with varied temperature pools and a beautiful open-air setting.

Rooms
10.0
I loved the spacious Twin Room with an Onsen View Bath on a high floor. It was well-planned and had a portable speaker, which I utilized during my private onsen soak.
Service
8.0
The staff were friendly and accommodating despite the language barrier, which I truly appreciated. although they weren't able to assist me with printing my bus ticket.
Location
7.0
The hotel is conveniently located near a bus stop and within walking distance to local attractions. yet it felt a bit isolated from bus transport options.
Dining
8.0
While the roast beef at dinner was delicious, the grilled salmon at breakfast was overcooked and dry. overall, the dining didn't meet the high expectations set by the rest of my stay.
Facilities
10.0
I was impressed by the facilities, especially the public onsen with its multiple pools and stunning views of the valley and snowy mountains.
